East Hartford to Become a FiberCity™

28th August 2018

East Hartford has entered into an agreement with SiFi Networks to deliver a fiber optic network to the town, the first of its kind in New England.

East Hartford wants to become a world leading gigabit capable network, SiFi Networks privately funds and builds citywide fiber optic networks to enable service providers to bring the fastest and most reliable services to the community.

The infrastructure will first prioritize commercial corridors as well as residential areas that have demonstrated demand. This will foster innovation, drive job creation and stimulate economic growth.

Multipath/diverse connections which are high speed, resilient and affordable will also be provided for business and anchor institutions such as school, municipal buildings and libraries for example.

Scott Bradshaw, President at SiFi Networks America commented, “We are excited to begin work with East Hartford and eager to start our due diligence process enabling us to take the project to the next phase. This will involve completing the network design while conducting a scientifically based analysis of demand for fiber internet by residents and businesses in East Hartford as well as understanding the town’s own requirements.”

The deployment of a fiber infrastructure will ensure the economic future of the town and make it a prosperous place for people to live and work. Residents will not only see quicker download speeds and better streaming experience, but they will also experience better community services. Healthcare will be improved as well as police departments and the environment to name a few.

“In SiFi Networks, East Hartford found a nimble partner that understood the value of high speed connectivity to both the community and to future development. Once the installation of fiber is completed within East Hartford, we will see barriers like the educational divide broken down and that’s nothing but good for the community today, tomorrow, and in the future.” Commented Mayor Leclerc.

Business owners will also see improved productivity, security and reliability the overarching benefits to a fiber network.

SiFi Networks ask that residents and businesses of East Hartford go online now and register their interest for service on its website by following this link www.sifinetworks.com/inyourcity/east-hartford-ct/register-interest-residential/
