Wednesday, January 25, 2017

The USA is one of the world’s largest online markets with 290 million internet users according to Statista.

E marketer reported US citizens already spend 12hours and 5 minutes of their day on media usage.

Whether it be browsing social media or on-line shopping the number of users and the time they are spending online is increasing.

Forecasts suggest that by 2018 the digital buyer will reach 191.2 million people and by 2019 162.8million of those will be mobile buyers.

Pew research center reported that 68% of Americans have a smart phone, 73% own a desktop or laptop and 45% own a tablet.

“Data shows us that more and more people are using multiple devices and are depending on the internet to go about their daily lives” commented Sara Pickstock, Marketing and Communications Director at SiFi Networks.

“In order for these figures to continue to increase faster, less expensive and more reliable internet connections are needed” Added Pickstock.

In spite of the internet being created in the USA it is not leading the way in terms of broadband speed and price.

SiFi Networks is working with Cities in the USA to fund, build and operate fiber optic networks, not only enabling Smart City infrastructure but allowing greater competition in the market place thus resulting in a greater choice of services and better customer service.
