Its Tamale Time!

Tamale Festival

Wednesday, December 15, 2021

The Placentia FiberCity® team in partnership with GigabitNow are proud to be one of the sponsors at the annual Placentia Tamale Festival.

Now in its 27th year the festival draws in crowds of 20,000 plus to Sante Fe Avenue to celebrate the Mexican meal.

The festival has grown from a tradition started by some small businesses of putting out tables with free pan dulcechampurrado and coffee on the sidewalk during las posadas, a Catholic religious tradition, along Santa Fe Avenue. The faithful dressed up as Mary and Joseph while leading processions that re-enacted the Holy Family’s Biblical trek to Bethlehem.

Each year more and more people came to celebrate las posadas and the Tamale festival officially began in 1994.

The Placentia FiberCity® team in partnership with GigabitNow, Placentia’s internet service provider on the network will be at the festival.

“We are really looking forward to being a part of this special event in the city.” Commented Geoff Spickler, VP Geoff Spickler, VP of Community Relations Placentia FiberCity®.

“It’s a great opportunity for the community to learn more about the fiber network we are deploying in the city and the service they will expect to receive” added Geoff.

If you don’t get to chat to us at the Tamale event, please come and see us at one of our weekly taco truck events. Find out the location of the truck at placentiafibercity.com
