FiberCity construction flag - Farmington Area FiberCity® Project Powers Forward

Farmington Area FiberCity® Project Powers Forward

With Spring around the corner, work on the Farmington Area FiberCity® network is once again gaining momentum, signaling continued progress toward a more connected future for residents and businesses in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Construction activity had eased during the colder months, when frozen ground and seasonal conditions limited the efficiency of underground installation. With the arrival of Spring, crews have returned to the field and will begin advancing to expand the fiber network across both Farmington and Farmington Hills.

As construction activity increases, residents and businesses will notice more crews working along streets and throughout neighborhoods while they pave the way for a faster, more reliable, and future-ready internet network.

Farmington Area FiberCity® is a city-wide fiber-optic network designed to bring high-speed internet access to homes and businesses across the Farmington Area. Built with underground fiber infrastructure, the network transmits data as pulses of light through fiber-optic cables, delivering fast, reliable, and scalable connectivity to support both everyday use and the growing digital demands of the future.

While many residents and businesses already have access to high-speed internet through Farmington Area FiberCity®, the network will continue to come online in phases, with additional neighborhoods gaining access as construction and setup are completed in their area. Residents and business owners are encouraged to visit FarmingtonAreaFiberCity.com to register with an excellent internet service provider on the network and keep up to date with service updates.
