Rockford FiberCity® is proud to announce the appointment of two new internet service providers: Coextro and SUMOFIBER. These providers will deliver high-speed services across the open access FiberCity® infrastructure, offering Rockford residents and businesses more choice, flexibility, and value.
Coextro and SUMOFIBER both have over a decade of experience in delivering reliable, customer-focused internet solutions. Their arrival in the market marks a major step forward in Rockford’s efforts to close the digital divide by increasing access to world-class connectivity for underserved communities.
Both providers will offer service to multi-dwelling units (MDUs)—including apartment complexes, and Home Owner Associations (HOAs) with more than 12 units—as well as commercial properties citywide. They join T-Mobile Fiber, which currently serves single-family homes and smaller residential buildings.
“We’re excited to offer more options for Rockford’s apartment dwellers, condo residents, and local businesses,” said George Wellings, President of Network Access Partnerships at SiFi Networks. “Adding Coextro and SUMOFIBER further demonstrates the strength of our open access model and the real-world benefits it brings to end users through greater competition, innovation, and affordability.”
All FiberCity® networks operate on an open access model, which enables multiple service providers to deliver services over the same infrastructure. This model promotes healthy market competition and gives customers better service quality and pricing without being locked into a single provider.
For MDU Owners and Property Managers:
Fiber connectivity is a high-value amenity that helps attract and retain tenants while future-proofing properties for evolving digital demands. Getting connected is simple: property managers or building owners only need to sign a Right of Entry (ROE) agreement permitting access to MDUs and the private streets where HOA premises can often reside. Once connected, residents enjoy access to some of the fastest internet speeds available in the nation.
For Businesses:
Local businesses can now enjoy affordable, superior fiber connectivity leveraging a fiber network that’s built to support increasing reliance on reliable, high-speed connectivity; enabling businesses to grow and thrive while also having the ability to take advantage of scalable, and often more affordable, cloud applications and solutions.
