SiFi Networks – Corporate

Construction Commences in Placentia, CA

Tuesday, July 06, 2021

The start of July has been momentous for the City of Placentia as SiFi Networks’ construction team arrived to commence construction of Placentia FiberCity®.

SiFi Networks is funding, building and operating this citywide, open access, 10 gig enabled fiber network under its FiberCity® brand. Placentia FiberCity® will not only deliver superfast fiber internet speeds to all homes and businesses in the city it will be the backbone for economic development and will digitally sustain the city enabling smart city application and a citywide infrastructure footprint that closes the digital divide.

SiFi Networks has contracted Lat Long Infrastructure (LLI) LLC, to deploy the network. LLI are specialists in microtrench technology, the method used to deploy all of SiFi Networks’ FiberCities®. Utilized for its minimally invasive, precise, fast and efficient attributes, it also only requires one lane closure on a street reducing the impact on the city and its community.

“We are really excited to have started construction, to bring a reliable, resilient superfast fiber network to the city of Placentia” commented Goeff Spickler, VP Community Relations SiFi Networks.

“The network will futureproof the city, boost economic development and by constructing through every street it will help close the digital divide in the city. It will also help deliver smart city applications, making it a great city to live, work and play, the community should be very excited”. Added Spickler.

Renowned internet service provider GigabitNow, will deliver all home and business internet services to the city and prides itself on the ultimate internet experience with 24-hour customer service focused on providing the best internet possible. To make sure the community is well informed on the citywide project we are deploying our Taco Truck for a weekly Eat and Greet event! Whilst enjoying a free Taco courtesy of Placentia FiberCity®, powered by SiFi Networks, residents and businesses can meet their internet service provider GigabitNow as well as the SiFi team, giving them the opportunity to ask any questions they have on construction, the project and the services they can expect to receive on the network, all while enjoying a free taco on us.

The truck will be out every Wednesday 5-7pm and will follow the construction route. Keep a close eye on the Placentia FiberCity® social media pages to see when the truck is in your neighborhood.
